About Roberta

Life’s challenges, from having a child with a complex medical condition to mid-life divorce, along with my own autoimmune condition, introduced me to life coaching. I’ve had a long career in compliance and operations but long felt that something was missing, that I wasn’t being of service, and there was other meaningful work for me to do.

I’d wanted to take coach training for many years, and the pandemic forced me to ask, “if not now, when?” I trained and became certified with the Wayfinder program from Martha Beck, PhD (a Harvard-trained sociologist and Oprah’s life coach) and the BARE program from Susan Hyatt.

My life has followed a typical path for many Gen-X-ers who grew up in the Boston suburbs like me: college, marriage, family, etc. I checked all the boxes but didn’t do everything the traditional way. I went to college at night while working full-time (BS Management, Bentley University) and graduated when my daughter was three. I didn’t have much direction in my 20s, trying many jobs until I landed in financial services.

In addition to working full-time, I’ve spent the last 26 years, since my daughter’s diagnosis at four months old, educating others about cystic fibrosis, fundraising, volunteering, and advocating at the state and federal congressional levels for CF and healthcare-related issues.

Those who know me well will agree that my weirdest job was early on as a car salesperson. Somehow, I talked my way into the job and then spent weeks studying all the makes and models on the dealer’s lot. But when it came to approaching middle-aged people on the lot, I couldn’t do it. Nope, no way, not for this introvert. I was out of there.

Adjectives my friends and loved ones use to describe me are trustworthy, caring, curious, kind, supportive, and practical. I’m happiest outside in nature and care deeply about our ecosystems, especially protecting and providing native plants for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. When I’m not working or coaching, you’ll find me in the kitchen trying new recipes (“experiments” to my taste testers), in the garden, or on one of the many hiking trails in the area with my Beagle, Jolly.
